Carefully and skillfully crafted using the double-weave technique, the Liv Basket is a true expression of functional art.
Originally known as the Bolga Pot Basket, its shape is inspired by traditional Ghanaian clay water pots—locally called Kula. Before refrigerators were common, these clay pots were used to cool drinking water in many homes. Growing up, no water tasted better than water from a Kula. The Liv Basket carries this memory forward through its form and purpose.
Each basket is made from the vetiver plant, also known as elephant grass, which is locally harvested and tightly woven to create a strong and long-lasting structure. The handles are carefully wrapped in goatskin leather, protecting the finishing ends while adding durability and comfort.
The Liv Basket is designed to be both practical and beautiful. It can be used as:
A storage basket
A decorative basket for the living room or bedroom
Its sculptural shape makes it a standout piece in any space.
A medium Liv Basket takes 2–3 days to complete, with every piece woven patiently and with care. Each basket tells a story of craftsmanship, empowerment, and keeping traditional skills alive.
Every purchase represents an appreciation of traditional craft and supports the empowerment of artisans.

Repeated exposure may cause the natural colors to fade over time.
Frequent exposure to water can affect both natural and dyed grass. If your basket becomes wet, allow it to dry naturally in the sun or use a hair dryer on medium heat.
Keep your basket away from moisture to help maintain its shape and quality.
